Arts Events Spotlight Student Talent

Dozens of cultural events are scheduled during the fall semester at Eastern Kentucky University. They include concerts, plays and art exhibits.

Sept. 21-Oct. 16, Impaired Perceptions, a black-and-white portrait series by photographer Brian Charles Steel, known for his sympathetic portrayals of individuals with disabilities (Upper Gallery) and sculpture exhibition by Walter Early (Lower Gallery).

Oct. 19-Dec. 4, second annual student artwork exhibit, presented by EKU Libraries. Visit EKU Libraries on Facebook Oct. 19-23 to vote for favorite piece. "People's Choice" awards will be presented on Oct. 27. Students should visit http://library.eku.edu/student-exhibit by Friday, Oct. 2, to submit their artwork.

Oct. 26-Nov. 13, painting exhibition by Robert McCann (Upper Gallery) and installation by Jonathan McFadden (Lower Gallery).

Nov. 23-Dec. 10, graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts students in the Department of Art and Design will exhibit works in a variety of media.
