The Eastern Kentucky University Choirs will present their annual “Deck the Halls!” Holiday Dinner and Concert Dec. 9-10.
The event, to be held nightly in the Keen Johnson Ballroom, blends traditional and contemporary carols performed by the Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, University Singers and the Trombone Society. Guests will also be treated to a dinner menu that includes some familiar favorites such as wassail, egg pie, Arcadian mixed lettuce salad, herb roasted Cornish hen served over wild rice, minted carrots, apple strudel and more. A vegetarian option of quinoa with dried fruits and walnuts stuffed into a bell pepper is also available.
The cost is $30, and reservations may now be made online at www.ekuchoirs.org or in person in Room 101 of the Foster (Music) Building, 8 a.m.-4:40 p.m. weekdays. Anyone wanting to make specific seating arrangements should call 622-3266. Tickets will not be available at the door.
“Patrons will be treated to an evening of fine dining and exquisite singing,” said Dr. Richard Waters, director of choral activities at EKU. “It will be a cheerful, festive and delicious celebration of the season.”
Doors to the Keen Johnson Building will open at 6:15 each night, with pre-dinner music provided in the lobby. Seating will begin at 6:45, with dinner at 7.
