EKU Hosts Shakespeare in the Ravine

Published on July 16, 2019

The Ravine at Eastern Kentucky University will host a modern adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” on July 19, 20, 26 and 27 at 7:30 p.m. The 95-minute show is free and open to the public.

Food trucks will be on hand for the event. Picnics and blankets are also welcome.

Shakespeare’s romantic comedy of errors features the wit and wily word play of two of his sharpest characters. Beatrice and Benedick spar their way into each other’s hearts over the course of one wild weekend as the boys come home victorious from war and are looking for love. Villains, rubes, masquerades and mistaken identities abound in this Shakespeare favorite. Shakespeare in the Ravine, fast, funny and FREE!

The cast is full of EKU alumni, as well as some current students. Sarah Jo Jacobs stars as Beatrice and Brandon McCoy stars as Benedick. Other Colonels include Jonathan Hibbard as Don John and Verges, Maddy Marks as Conrad and Margaret and Matt Lacefield as Don Pedro and Watch.

Come and see one of Shakespeare’s favorites at one of the best spots on campus.
