Eastern Kentucky University will host a photography exhibition that spotlights “Women of Uzbekistan.”
The exhibit, representing many aspects of everyday life in the former Soviet republic, can be seen in the documents area (third floor) of the University’s John Grant Crabbe Main Library Nov. 1-30. An opening reception will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
The photographs, from the Inner Asian and Uralic National Resource Center at Indiana University, are the work of Zilola Saidova, an alumna of Indiana University’s School of Journalism, and her colleague, Shavkat Boltayev.
Free and open to the public, the exhibit is sponsored by the EKU Department of History, Asian Studies, Women and Gender Studies and EKU Libraries. To see John Grant Crabbe Main Library hours, visit library.eku.edu/hours.
