Alan Long, founder and managing member at Baldwin CPA’s, is honored to be one of Accounting Today’s 2019 Managing Partner Elite. This is his second appearance on the Top 10 list with his first being in 2012. This list looks to leaders who aren’t just achieving firm growth but have the right priorities in place when it comes to their staff, culture, technology, planning, innovation and leadership. The 1979 EKU graduate (bachelor’s degree in accounting) was named a Distinguished Alumnus of the University’s College of Business & Technology in 2005.
Long is a member of the EKU Board of Regents. He was appointed in January 2014 to fill an unexpired term that ended in June 2014, and reappointed to serve a six-year term that expires in 2020.
Long started the firm in 1984 and since the inaugural list was published in 2012, he has led the firm to double in revenue through both M&A and organic growth and triple in staff. Long credits his success to being comfortable with change saying, “Change can be uncomfortable for most leaders, but what has set me apart has been my ability to embrace and ultimately drive change.” Long is well-known for his love of technology and has implemented strategies though the years to ensure his staff is working as effectively and efficiently as possible.
