Eastern Kentucky University has named alumna Courtney Collins as the Director of Parking & Transportation Services.
“Courtney brings a high level of experience and professionalism to this position, combined with a love of EKU,” said Bryan Makinen, Executive Director of Public Safety. “We welcome her energy, enthusiasm, leadership and service-oriented approach in helping the university community.”
Collins is no stranger to the Colonel community. She graduated from EKU with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2011. While attending school, she served as a student public safety officer within the Division of Public Safety. Upon graduation, she joined the university staff as a parking control officer and began serving as a police officer the next year. Soon, she became a detective in the Criminal Investigations Unit.
As Parking & Transportation Services continues its transition to a service-oriented department, Collins will have direct oversight for the Department of Parking & Transportation Services and is responsible for planning, organizing and administering University-wide parking and transportation services, operations and initiatives.
“She has a proven track record of success and we look forward to new ideas, initiatives and continual advancement of the Parking & Transportation Services department,” said Makinen. “Please join us in welcoming her to the team in her new role.”
