Abra Akers Endsley, a lecturer in the public relations program in the Department of Communication at Eastern Kentucky University, was elected recently to serve a two-year term as the east regional representative on the executive council of the Kentucky Communication Association.
Endsley teaches public relations and currently serves as the interim faculty adviser to The Eastern Progress. Her areas of research and expertise are in fundraising, leadership and communication.
In May, Endsley completed her doctorate coursework in EKU’s educational leadership and policy studies program and is currently working on her dissertation.
During the conference, Endsley along with Dr. Kathy Previs, public relations faculty at EKU and immediate past president of KCA, were part of a panel presentation on Ideas and Activities for Three Hot Topics for Teaching in PR: Crisis, Career Choices and Fundraising.
The EKU Department of Communication brings together theory and practice by employing mentoring, coaching and teaching. Courses emphasize hands-on learning that will create media professionals, public relations practitioners and communication specialists who are equipped for the future.
