An Eastern Kentucky University official is the newly-named chair of the Accreditation Council for Co-op and Internships.
Gladys Miller, director of EKU’s Center for Career and Co-Op, will serve a minimum of two years in the post. She has held various leadership positions with the Council (www.co-opaccreditation.org) since 1997.
The Council recently expanded its mission to encompass accrediting internship programs.
EKU was the first academic institution in Kentucky to earn national accreditation for its co-op program.
Miller, who joined the EKU staff in 1991, has served in her current capacity since 2013; previously, she was director of the Cooperative Education and Internship Program.
She has also held various leadership positions with the Kentucky Association for Cooperative Education and Career Employment, the Cooperative Education Association of Kentucky and the Midwest Cooperative Education and Internship Association.
Miller has also served as co-chair of the University Diversity Committee at EKU since 2012.
