Wes Buton, senior and president of the Eastern Kentucky University Trap and Skeet Team, recently captured a national title.
Burton shot a 96 out of 100 at the Amateur Trap Association's annual Grand American Handicap. Burton emerged victorious in a shootout with three others and is now the 2015 ATA Grand American Junior Gold Champion.
Earlier this summer, the EKU Trap and Skeet Team was state champion. Joining Burton in winning honors at the state event were Steven Joyce, Todd Adams and Derek Barr.
