Students Win Awards at Kentucky Academy of Sciences

Three Eastern Kentucky University students scored big in the research competitions at the Kentucky Academy of Science’s 2018 Annual Meeting, held November 2-3 at Western Kentucky University. Renae Steinberger won first place in ecology and Meri Koskelainem won third place in geography for their undergraduate poster presentations. William Fenske won second place in microbiology for his oral presentation.

The Kentucky Academy of Science is a non-profit organization, founded in 1914, whose mission is to foster scientific discovery and understanding in Kentucky. More than 600 scientists and students attended the 2018 Annual meeting and hundreds of students from Kentucky and regional colleges and universities participated in the research competitions.
