Eastern Kentucky University continues to offer upper-division criminal justice courses in classrooms on the campus of Somerset Community College.
The University closed its Somerset Campus at 46 Turpen Court earlier this year as part of ongoing budget reductions, but continues to “explore opportunities that will benefit the Somerset area and EKU,” said Dr. Ryan Wilson, director of regional programming for Eastern.
“We are very grateful to Somerset Community College and their administration for granting us this opportunity to serve EKU students who were working to complete a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice,” Wilson said. “This partnership will benefit both institutions. Most importantly, it will benefit students in the Somerset area who wish to earn an associate degree in criminal justice at SCC and go on to complete a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice through EKU.”
The University is using three classrooms on the SCC campus to teach its courses.
