Eastern Kentucky University ranks second among Kentucky’s six regional universities in the most recent rankings from College Factual, a web site (www.collegefactual.com) that uses outcomes- and value-based data to guide students through the college selection process.
In the overall rankings, which also include private schools, EKU ranked only one slot behind Murray State University and ahead of Western Kentucky University, Northern Kentucky University, Morehead State University and Kentucky State University.
The rankings considered such criteria as mathematics and reading SAT scores, freshman retention and graduation rates, faculty compensation, expenditures per student, student-to-faculty ratios, number of full-time faculty, student loan default rates and starting career income boost.
“An increased understanding of value-based factors such as these is crucial for families when deciding on a college,” College Factual CEO Bill Phelan said in 2013. “By making this data more accessible and providing the tools for customizable comparisons, College Factual is a force for change, empowering consumers to find great value and achieve great outcomes.”
College Factual released its 2016 rankings in association with its domestic rankings partner, USA Today.
