Eastern Kentucky University is ranked in U.S. News & World Report’s 2015 Best Online Programs for Veterans. EKU is ranked in three categories:
- Best Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs
- Best Online Graduate Education Programs
- Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs
“We are very pleased to have this honor again in 2015,” said EKU Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Janna Vice. “We continually strive to offer our service members exceptional degree programs that meet their unique needs.”
This is the third year that U.S. News has ranked online programs for veterans. The rankings are designed to help returning veterans and active-duty service members identify high-quality online degree programs that suit their educational needs. In order to be ranked, programs were required to belong to an institution that is both certified for the GI Bill and participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program. Institutions not participating with the Yellow Ribbon Program were still eligible if charging in-state tuition for all out-of-state veterans.
In addition, all schools evaluated in this ranking must have been awarded a numerical rank in the overall 2015 U.S. News Best Online Programs rankings, released earlier this year, which assessed for various factors, including affordability, faculty credentials, student services and reputation. Only regionally accredited degree-granting programs that were predominantly online were considered.
