The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at Eastern Kentucky University has met the high standards for continued accreditation by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA). EKU’s program, available in online and on-campus formats, is accredited through 2025.
“Our MPA faculty are dedicated to preparing students for successful careers,” said Dr. Sara Zeigler, dean of the EKU College of Letters, Arts, & Social Sciences. “NASPAA accreditation makes that promise official.”
In a letter to the University, Jeffrey L. Osgood Jr., chair of the NASPAA Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation, said, “By pursuing and achieving accreditation through a rigorous peer review, your program has demonstrated a substantial commitment to quality public service education.”
Founded in 1968, EKU’s MPA program was the first of its kind in Kentucky. The 100 percent online degree option launched in 2014. It was named among the Top 20 online MPA degrees in the nation by Best Master’s Degrees and Best College Reviews. The MPA degree is a popular choice for individuals with an interest in community development and public service. Job opportunities exist in local government, city management, nonprofit leadership and health care, among other possibilities.
