Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) in collaboration with the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) will host the 2024 Pedagogicon conference beginning on May 15 through May 17, 2024. The conference theme Student Engagement & Experiential Learning encourages higher education professionals to consider the ways classroom environments can promote engaging learning experiences.

Esteemed author and former CEO of Covey Leadership Center, Stephen M.R. Covey, will deliver the keynote address at EKU's Center for the Arts. Covey led the Covey Leadership Center to become the biggest leadership development company in the world. Additionally, Covey spearheaded the strategy that propelled his father Stephen R. Covey’s book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," to become one of the most influential business books of the 20th century, according to CEO Magazine. In his most recent book, "Trust & Inspire: How Truly Great Leaders Unleash Greatness in Others," Covey explores how the world has changed drastically but leadership styles have not.

“EKU and the CPE have worked tirelessly to ensure this year’s pedagogicon conference enlightens, strengthens and empowers educators across the Commonwealth,” said EKU President David McFaddin. “Stephen M.R. Covey and his unparalleled insights on leadership are profoundly relevant to our mission of shaping the next generation of leaders and thinkers. With his expertise, we anticipate an enriching conversation that will empower our community to embrace integrity-driven leadership and foster positive change in our educational landscape.”
