Dr. Ryan Baggett has received the 2016-17 Outstanding Mentor Award from the EKU College of Justice & Safety.
Baggett is the program coordinator of the college’s homeland security program. Over the past three years, Baggett has directed student learning, produced the Homeland Security Undergraduate Research Showcase, facilitated student involvement in disaster exercises, assisted students in physical security assessments and served as adviser for two student organizations, Homeland Security and Assets Protection Leaders of Tomorrow and the EKU Chapter of the Order of the Sword and Shield Honor Society.
The Outstanding Mentor Award increases the scholarship productivity of both students and faculty by providing professional development funds for faculty members who have demonstrated consistent and significant mentorship opportunities with students over the past three years. The funds are used to further mentorship with students.
