Eastern Kentucky University faculty member Dr. Siwei Gao was recently appointed to the Board of Governors of the Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association.
Gao, assistant professor of risk management and insurance in the Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems, is among 24 board members chosen from around the world to serve a three-year term on the board of the Association, which is headquartered in Singapore. The board includes members from the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Poland, Singapore and Taiwan.
Earlier this year Gao was appointed to the Thomas and Rebecca Coffey Endowed Professorship in Insurance Studies at EKU and presented internationally in Munich.
Gao earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and a doctoral degree in business administration from Temple University’s Fox School of Business.
