Recent Lincoln County High School graduate Danielle Adams is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship presented by Peoples Bank of Madison and Rockcastle Counties to a high school student enrolled in the Eastern Kentucky University Upward Bound program, which serves first-generation college students.
Adams, who successfully completed three years of Upward Bound, plans to attend EKU and study nursing or education after completing her general education classes at Bluegrass Community and Technical College.
“Danielle did an excellent job of meeting the scholarship criteria,” said Bank President Patrick Ballinger, who attended the 2015 Upward Bound Senior Ceremony and co- presented the award. “We are proud to partner with Upward Bound because of our mutual commitment to serve the needs of our communities.”
